Why: I try to cook and do something else at the same time and I forget to consciously check if I left the stove on.

2) The public transportation in South Florida sucks, buses don't run everywhere.

Why: Most people in South Florida have cars.

3) Planning what to do on a long trip.

Why: I find it hard to find what to do that everyone I am traveling with would enjoy.

4) The McDonald closest to my house on marina 84 always has a long line at night time.

Why: They don't schedule enough people to work during the evening.

5) Hard to clean spots in the refrigerator.

Why: The way a refrigerate is made allows it to have numerous crevices which requires taking multiple parts apart to clean it properly.

6) Figuring out the correct balance to live a happy life.

Why: I am still figuring out what gives meaning to my life.

7) Leaving my car lights on.

Why: I find it hard to consciously check if I left my lights on after looking for something.

8) I have to walk a long distance to throw away my trash.

Why: I am located at the beginning of my apartment complex and the trash is all the way in the back.

9) I have to carry heavy grocery bags up three flights of stairs.

Why: I choose to live on the third floor.

10) Spotify's radio stations that play the same set of songs over and over again.

Why: Spotify hasn't taken the time to expand their radio section to play a variety of songs .

11) Driving to work and the draw bridge on Andrew's Ave takes anywhere from 5-10 minutes to let a boat pass by.

Why: From my house the quickest way to get to work is to drive pass past the draw bridge.

12) Cleaning my glasses multiple times daily.

Why: I have a habit of touching my glasses.

13) My glasses fog up whenever I go outside on a humid day.

Why: People in that area prefer pollo tropical more over other restaurants in the area during lunch time

15) When I take a shower water gets all over the floor, even though I have a shower curtain.

Why: Some how the water from my shower head travels down the tile wall and exits through a small opening where the end of my shower curtain meets the edge of the bath tub.

16) When I forget to bring lunch to work I get a snack from the vending machine but there are times when the machine gets stuck and I have to risk my life shaking the vending machine for a bag of chips.

Why: The vending machine needs to be repaired

Why: I don't want to make someone wait while I am parallel parking.

19) My apartment complex put water conversing nozzles on each water facet and shower head in my apartment. Now it takes 5 minutes just to fill up a pot of water and even longer to get hot water.

Why: The apartment invested in water conserving nozzles to save water.

20) I have terrible skills when it comes to saving money.

Why: Growing up I was never introduced to the financial skills I would need to live on my own.

Reflections:

I found this terribly difficult because I have been programming myself not to think of the things that bug me in order to be more grateful. So I had to dig into my memory and re-trace my daily steps to find things that bother me. Also, I think I found this difficult because I had to step out of myself and what I have to do for a bit and look at my daily life from an objective point of view to be able to think about why the bug exists and not why it bugs me.

  1. Hi Lillian. I definitely can relate to a lot of your bugs. In particular, I found that I could relate to your bug on struggling to "plan what to do on a long trip". Having just studied abroad, I found this especially relatable. Countless times when I traveled on the weekend or even when I was staying in my apartment in Barcelona I found myself dumbfounded on what to plan and what is best to do because there was so much that I wanted to do. Otherwise, great post and I'm looking forward to reading more of your posts this semester!
